National Cadet Corps (NCC): The NCC wing of the College was opened with 52 male cadets from August, 2006 under 9 Assam Bn. NCC, Jorhat. The cadets have successfully partic’oated in several local as well as national level camps. Several cadets have successfully completed the ‘C’ Certificate examination. The CTO of the wing is Mr. Jyotirmoy Bordoloi, Assistant Professor, and Department of Assamese. Besides, one more NCC (Air Force) wing is being opened in the college with Subhrajyoti Chanda of English Dept., as its C.T.O.

The girls' wing of NCC was also opened with 25 cadets from August, 2008 under 64 Assam Girls' Bn. NCC, Jorhat. The number of cadets was doubled the next year. The cadets have been participating in several local and national level camps and extension activities ever since. Mrs. Meghali Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology is the CTO of this wing.

The National Service Scheme (NSS): The College provides opportunity for the students to develop their personality and a sense of social responsibility through community services under the National Service Scheme (NSS). Mr. Tarun Loying, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese is the programme officer of NSS.

Scouts: There is facility for Scouts training for boys by a qualified teacher. This training is most essential because it helps the students to develop honesty, righteousness, social obligation and patriotism.

Students' Union: The students have their Union under the name and style of Jorhat College Students which is the general body of the students of the College. The union functions in accordance with its constitution. The Union Fund is derived from the contribution of the students. Office bearers of the Union Executive are elected annually. For contesting any portfolio in the election, students must have minimum 75% attendance in class as per the Supreme Court’s directions.

Students’ Magazine: The Students’ Union annually publishes a magazine which gives the students the opportunity to develop their literary talent.

Wall Magazine: Besides the annual magazine, the students’ union also publishes a quarterly Wall-Magazine. Various departments also publish their Journals/ Wall Magazines etc., on their own.

Memorial Lectures & Debates:

i) S. N. Rajkumar Inter College Debating Competition: The College hosts an inter-College Debating Competition in the memory of Late S.N. Rajkumar, a former Principal of the college.

ii) Jehiruddin Ahmed Memorial Lecture: The College organises a lecture programme in the memory of Jehirudding Ahmed, a renowned educationist and founder President of Jorhat College Governing Body.

Free Wi-Fi & Internet:
Free Wi-Fi and internet facility is provided to the students in the college library.
