RESULTS AND PROGRESSION :

a. In order to get passed in a course (paper) a candidate shall have to

i) Secure at least 30% marks (24 out of 80) in the End Semester Examination conducted by the University.

ii) Secure at least 30% marks in aggregate of the In-Semester and End-Semester Examinations’ marks.

b. A candidate will be declared to have passed a Semester provided he/she passes in all the courses of a Semester independently.

c. A candidate who fails or does not appear in one or more courses (papers) or any End-Semester Examination shall be provisionally promoted to the next higher Semester with the failed course(s) as carry over course(s). Such a candidate may appear in the carry over course(s) in the next regular Examinations of those courses. However a candidate will get maximum three consecutive chances to clear a course.

d. If a candidate clears the Sixth Semester Examination before clearing all the courses of the previous Semesters, the result of the Sixth Semester- Examination of that candidate shall be withheld till he/ she clears all the carry over courses of the previous Semesters.

e. Since the Semester system involves continuous s evaluation of the students, it does not leave any scope for a candidate to appear as private candidate in the Examinations.

f. A candidate shall be declared to have passed tie Six Semester Degree Programme provided he/ she passes all the Semesters and in all the courses individually.

g. The grading of the passed candidates would be as follows:

General (Non-Major) Programme

Major Programme

60% and above marks in aggregate

First Division aggregate in Major

60 % and above marks in Courses

First Class

50% and above but less than 60% marks in aggregate

Second Division

50% and above but less than 60%
marks in aggregate in Major Courses

Second Class

30% and above but below 50% marks in aggregate

Simple Pass

30% and above but below 50%
marks in aggregate in Major Courses

Simple Pass (the degree shall be treated as a general degree)

h. A student who secures 60% and above marks in a 1 the courses individually in all the semesters shall be declared to have passed in First Division with distinction, in case of General Programme, and First Class with distinction, in case of Major programme.
