TUTOR-WARD SYSTEM: For effective mentoring of the students of Semester System the college has introduced the Tutor Ward System. This system helps the students to reach his or her potential, to accentuate self-confidence and self-reliance.
CAREER COUNSELLING AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL : The College has an active “Career Counselling and Entrepreneurship Development Cell” which organizes workshops, seminars, lecture programmes etc. from time to time with a view to guiding the students in choosing their career and developing an entrepreneurial bent of mind. The Cell has also been conducting several skill-based Programmes like. Beautician, Fabric and Glitter Painting, Interior Decoration etc. from time to time for the benefit of the students. The Cell conducts usually the following career programmes (a) workshop on Time management and priority factor, (b) Communication and Body Language, (c) preparation for Interview, (d) Interview facing skills, (e) Career talks etc. Apart from these the Cell has been conducting a Personality Development class for the Degree students in the daily time table.
GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL: The College has a Grievance Redressal Cell to meet the grievances of the students, teachers and the employees. A Complain and Suggestion Box has been placed in front of the room where the grievant may place their grievances and or suggestions in black and white.
GENDER SENSITIZATION & SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION CELL: The College has a Cell for sensitizing its students and staff on gender issues and thereby preventing sexual harassment.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS: The following scholarships and awards are available to the eligible students of both Higher Secondary and Degree courses.
a) National Merit Scholarship.
b) OBC, MOBC, SC, ST Scholarships,
c) From Students ‘Aid Fund, Free Studentship is granted to deserving poor students. Applications for Free Studentship must be submitted by the students when call for.
a) Torun Mohan Goswami Memorial Awards _Three cash awards are given in the name of Tarun Mohan Goswami, a former Vice-Principal re college who besides being a dedicated teacher in Economics, was also a good singer. These awards are managed from the annually accumulated interest of the Tarun Mohan Goswami Memorial trust Fund formed with donation of the family and well-wishers of late T.M. Goswami. The college authority has also contributed a sizable amount of late keep-up the fund. Following are the awards.
* Students securing highest marks in Economics among the successful candidates from this college in the Higher Secondary and B.A. 6th Semester Major) Examinations will be entitled to the Torun Mohan Goswami Memorial Award. In case of H.S. Examination, the awardee must secure at least 75% marks in Economics and get admitted in SSDC (Semester 1st class of this college. In case of B.A. 6th Semester Examination, the awardee must secure at least 60 % marks in Economics Major.
* The best singer in the Annual Music competition res during the College Week will also be entitled to the Torun Mohan Goswami Memorial Award.
b) Bhoben Kumar Bora Memorial Award: It is a cash award donated by Dr. Nilima Bora, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, to commemorate her younger brother, Bhoben Kumar Bora, a young intellectual who died in an accident _he a warn: would be given to the best literary competitor in the Annual College Week.
c) Best Student Award : An award comprising a trophy and a certificate is given annually to a student selected as the best student through continuous observation of his/her conduct, attendance, performance in the class as we as extra-curricular activities by a committee of teachers entrusted by the principal for the purpose.
d) The Most Regular Student Award : A student from each class is selected for the “Most Regular Student Award” for the highest percentage of attendance. The eligibility criterion for this award is minimum 90%. This award comprises a certificate and a trophy.
N.B.: The scholarship holders are to observe strict discipline and be regular in classes and examinations, failing which their scholarship may be cancelled. Payment of scholarships is made through Bank Accounts to be opened by the scholarship holders with State Bank of India (SBI), Jorhat Branch.
Students’ Concession: Students are entitled to students’ concession on production of Identity Cards for journeys during vacations.Dr. Ambedkar Study Centre: Recently a study centre named after Dr. Ambedkar, the father of Indian constitution has been set up. It would focus on casteism and untouchability and would organize national seminars, publish a journal.
